- Since Smithies demonstrated existence of heritable variation in its molecular structure of transferrin, numerous genetic and anthropological studies have been reported.
However there are a few studies of this subject including the distribution of Tf variants among the Korean population.
This paper describes the result of distribution of Tf variants among 326 Koreans and also Tf type identified from the blood stains kept under various physical conditions.
For the Tf typing, the supernatant solution of the serum by rivanol precipitation method were subjected to disc. electrophoresis following Ornsteins method.
The results are summerized in the following:
